Internationalization Project
FoopChat uses the GNU gettext for Delphi toolkit
for translation. Each language requires a separate catalog file (.po file) which contains the
original text in English, and the translation in the appropriate language.
To create a new translation for FoopChat, you must download a template .po file. This file contains
all of the text used in FoopChat, and you can edit it to translate it into your language. You can edit
the files in a normal text editor such as Windows NotePad, or you can use a .po file editor such as
poEdit.
Make sure you edit the file and save it as UTF-8!!!
Once you've made a translation, please send it to me at david_at_willowridgesoftware.com
(replace _at_ with @) and I will include it on this page. Even if you've only completed
a partial translation go ahead and send it to me and someone else can maybe continue your work. I
will also give you credit for your efforts on this page. Also please let me know if you plan to make
a translation.
As new languages become available I will create installation programs for them on the Downloads page
so they can be easily added to an existing FoopChat installation.
